The Fitting

First fittings last approximately one hour.

Bring your dress, shoes, and any special undergarments you plan to wear.

I will begin by pinning adjustments to the bodice, then add a bustle for the train of the gown, and lastly pinning the hem to the appropriate length. I will provide guidance on what is best to wear under your dress, style changes, accessory choices, and answer any other questions you may have!

During your second fitting we will check the fit of the completed alterations and pin any further adjustments that need to be made. I will teach you how to put up your bustle and the best way to care for your gown.

My alterations experience couldn’t have been more perfect. Agnes really took the time and effort to listen to my wants and needs, and even went through everything with my mom to make sure that she felt heard and understood too. Agnes went the extra mile and helped me find the perfect fabric and embellishments for the alterations I wanted, making my dress a beautiful one-of-a-kind creation. I will ALWAYS recommend her to my friends and family!

FAQ

What do I need to bring with to my fitting?

You will need to bring your dress, shoes, and any undergarments you plan to wear. If you have a veil or jewelry you would like to try on with your dress I recommend bringing it to your second fitting when there is more time and fewer pins in your dress.

Can I bring a guest with me?

Due to the limited space in my home studio I am only able to accommodate one guest during appointments.

Can you make a style/design change to my dress?

The answer is almost always yes! If you have an idea of how to make your dress truly one of a kind please let me know and I would love to help you make your vision a reality!

What if I am changing into flats after the ceremony?

Let me know your shoe plans during your fitting! If you change into different shoes then I usually recommend hemming your dress to the proper length for your ceremony/photos.

How and when do I pay?

I accept Cash, Check, and PayPal. A 50% deposit is required at your first fitting. Alterations must be payed in full at your final fitting before you take the dress home.

Do I need to tip?

Tips are never expected but always appreciated!

What if I'm planning on losing weight?

Please let me know! If you are doing a weightless or fitness program then we will want to wait until the two month mark before your wedding date to start your alterations. Remember that you don't need to lose weight to look beautiful in your gown, and I am here to make sure your dress fits you no matter what!

I need my alterations done and its super last minute, can you help?

I am not currently able to help with rush jobs due to my main job as a full time mom.

What if I have a problem with my alterations?

Please let me know if there is something that you are not happy with! I cannot fix something if I do not know you have a problem. I am here for YOU and I want you to be fully satisfied with your experience and how you look on your special day.

What is the average cost/How much should I budget for?

The average cost of a dress needing a hem, bustle, and bodice alterations is $500-700.

Will you alter my bridesmaid dress/mother of the bride dress/prom dress/suit/pants/other garment?

I am currently only offering my alteration services for bridal garments.

Will you make me a fully custom gown?
